In this photo tutorial, you will see how to knot the Mariposa pattern. The Mariposa knot was designed by Annett Eul.

If you follow the photo tutorial and make this knot with paracord type III, the collar will be about 4 cm wide and 1.5 cm thick.

In this tutorial, the Kosmetik 2.1 technique is used as the setup. Need help making this? Then check out the tutorial on the Kosmetik setup here.

Colour 1: Teal & Turquoise, colour 2: Teal, colour 3: Bubble Gum Pink colour 4: Turquoise, and colour 5 for the beads: Teal type I

After making the setup and adding the colours, it is helpful to check that the length of the setup is still correct.

Knotting the Mariposa

Now tighten the knot. Now start again at step 1 and continue until your work is the desired length.

*To finish the Type I rope, tie a knot as tight as possible at the beginning, cut off the rest and burn it into a ball.
