Make your own poop bag holder out of nappa leather

Store your dog’s poop bags in a fashionable leather bag. Choose a colour that nicely matches your dog’s set and make your own poop bag holder!

To attach the holder to the dog leash, you can choose a ring or snap hook to suit your taste and attach it to the handle of the holder. You can also add a decorative pendant to the handle.

Tutorial nappa leather poop bag holder

1. Cut out the PDF pattern.

2. Place the two cut-out pattern pieces on the leather and trace them over with a pen. Press through the paper with the pen to also mark the spots for the holes.3. Cut out the leather. You now have two pieces of leather: the piece for the holder itself and a strip for the handle.4. Punch the holes in the places you have marked. Make all holes 3 mm big, except the hole in the middle of the holder's flap. The hole in the flap should be about 4 mm in size.5. Make the hole for the eyelet. If you don't have a tool for this, you can also cut it out with scissors. Not using an eyelet? Then you can choose to make a 2.5 cm cut instead of a hole.

6. Put part of the eyelet on either side of the leather and fix it with the eyelet setter. Don't have an eyelet or a setter at home? Then you can also just omit the eyelet.7. Screw on the button stud. You'll use this stud to close the poop bag holder. 8. Secure the handle with two rivets. You can use a hand setter or the spindle press to do this. As 1.2 mm thick nappa leather has been used here, the two layers are fastened together with 7 mm rivets.

9. Fold the 3 side flaps over each other and secure with a rivet. Do the same on the other side. Make sure you keep the same folding order on both sides. Use 9 mm rivets to fasten three layers of this 1.2 mm thick leather.10. Put your roll of poop bags in the holder, close the flap and attach the bag to the laed.
